The What's Your History? Project Pitt County's Public Information Office is collecting pictures, articles, letters and interviews celebrating our 250 years.

Upcoming Events/Activities throughout the County where the County is making plans to have Booth/Staff presence or will be hosting:

MAY 2010
*Art Contest (K-5) - winners will be recognized at a BOCC meeting - prizes available. Work to be displayed at the Family Day/Park Opening Celebration
*May (date to be determined) - Grand Opening Celebration - Family Day - Pitt County District Park

JUNE / JULY 2010
*Sunday in the Park events - Greenville Town Commons
*Photo Contest - winners will be recognized at a BOCC meeting - prizes available

AUGUST 2010
*August 7 - 2nd Annual Pitt County Car & Bike Show & Government Expo - County Office Building, 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville
*Sunday in the Park events - Greenville Town Common
*August 24 - 29 - Watermelon Festival - Winterville
*August 26-28 - NCACC Conference - Greenville Convention Center
*August 28 - 1st annual City/County Fun Run - 8k race

SEPTEMBER 2010
*Writing Contest (6-8, 9-12) - responses to predetermined prompt - winners will be recognized at a BOCC meeting - prizes available
*September 9-12 - Collard Festival - Ayden
*September 17-18 - Peanut Festival - Fountain
*September 18 - Community Unity Festival - Bethel
*Freeboot Friday events on ECU Home Football Game weekends

OCTOBER 2010

*Presentation of House/Senate Resolutions adopted in Honor of Pitt County's 250th - community celebration (aligned with actual time of year in 1760 when creation of Pitt County was authorized.)
